The Architecture
03:59
|
|||
I shook hands with the city where you used to live,
And got weak at the knees.
The architecture was silent and listening,
It smiled politely back at me.
I'll crave harder days,
Try out the older ways,
I know full well today,
The hour goes away.
Time spent watching the colors fade, down to gray,
Would dry a bucket of paint.
Do a dance never done before, behind closed doors,
And write the words of the saints.

The night twisted us around without a beat as i fought with my dreams,
To find the right scene.
And it all burned away as we entered the winter again.
Love, don't say goodnight,
Crumble by my side,
Lover.
A new city has been waiting for us for too long as we wait,
On our own for the change but I'll
Strike on a match to burn the hesitation away.

Valley Rain
05:02
|
|||
Feel the sunlight as it graces you,
By the water where it all came true.
Salty currents washing over it all.
Younger girls have to stand so tall.
We'll just watch the sea's as they rise,
Valley rain will fall on our side.
Cross the state lines, your intuition bled,
Lay your head down in someone else's bed.
Wash the ink off of the dirty sheets,
Watch out the world war you fought for has been lost for weeks.

Be You
01:52
|
|||
Steal the time from off my wristwatch,
And come to see me.
The truth isn't what it used to be,
Not anymore.
Fall asleep on the cushion,
Of my happiness,
And take it all,
Take it with you.
I won't see you,
I won't be you,
I won't.
Walk the distance to the caffeine,
To patch things up.
I think I'll have a cigarette,
Out in the mud,
Under the snowfall,
I can't see anything,
Can't see anything at all.
I can't see you,
I won't be you,
I won't
